Session Overview
People who have never experienced this
work often have questions about what will happen in a session, and rightfully
so. I encourage my clients to ask questions so they can feel comfortable
and informed.

When I see a client for the first time
I ask them to fill out a short information form and we spend some time
talking about what the client needs help with, what their expectations
are and how we want to focus the session. Everyone has a story and the
telling of it is a rare and healing experience in itself. One client I
worked with shared that no one had ever asked her to tell her story before
and she came away with new insights into the patterns in her life and
how they were affecting her health. During the interview I am also sensing
and observing their energy, noticing how they express themselves, and
where they might be holding or blocking the flow. I feel like a detective
sometimes looking for clues that will help the client gain new insights.
Although we haven't gotten to the table work yet, the healing has already
begun.

When the moment is right I will ask
my client if they are ready to run some energy. Clients are fully clothed
and resting comfortably on a massage table. I use light touch beginning
at their feet. If they have a physical complaint I will work extensively
there and also follow the energy where it leads me. My intention is to
charge, clear and repair their energy field and to sense into whatever
other information might be available to help them discover the cause of
their discomfort and what they need to heal.

Once we start running energy, any talking we do at this
point is very focused on what is happening right there in the moment.
The client may be feeling heat, cold, tingling, or just very relaxed.
Sometimes clients will remember things, see pictures, make a meaningful
connection they never made before, see colors or feel emotional. There
are also those that feel nothing happening at all. Each individual's experience
is perfect for them and relates to the healing work being done.
When the session is complete the client
takes a minute to rest before they get up and we briefly review the session.
I may ask them to do some "homework" or other recommendations before our
next session, which we then schedule. Follow up sessions have the same
format minus the information form. The number of sessions needed varies
with each individual. I recommend that client's initially commit to a
series of four sessions.
