Biographical Information

I am a graduate of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, Reiki Master, professional healing science practitioner, teacher, writer, mother and grandmother, not always in that order. My Reiki practice started in Niantic, Connecticut back in 1994 when it was a relatively unknown holistic therapy. I spent many hours describing the benefits of Reiki to any and all who would listen. Thank you to all those adventurous souls who took a chance on the "weird" therapy.  (Thankfully, Reiki is now acknowledged as a valuable holistic therapy and is a part of many hospital integrative care programs.) At that time, I was lucky enough to be taken under the wing of a local therapist, who offered me space in her office once a week. She saw potential in me as a healer and gave me the support I needed to go on with my training and practice.

After attending the UCONN School of Social Work graduate program for several semesters I enrolled in the Barbara Brennan School of Healing.  Back in 1989 I attended one of Barbara's workshops at Omega Institute that really impressed me. The timing wasn't right for me to go to BBSH then, but I never forgot that experience.  Four years later, a friend handed me a BBSH brochure and asked if I had heard of it.  In that moment, I KNEW it was my next step.  I graduated from BBSH in 1997, and became a faculty member on the third year teaching team in 1999. In 2007 I was asked to be lead teacher of Anatomy and Physiology, and was appointed Assistant Dean/Administrator. Last year I had the privilege of teaching at BBSH-Japan.  Each year I travel to join a faculty of gifted, extraordinary individuals from all over the world. When I am not traveling you will generally find me in my Niantic office, enjoying time with my new grandson, teaching classes and workshops in Connecticut or Westchester Community College in New York, or sitting at my computer writing. My work is extraordinarily satisfying and I feel blessed to be able to do it everyday.  When I was a kid, I remember my mother encouraging me to be either a nurse or a teacher, and it seems I have done both, in my own unique way.

• 1994 - Present Private Practice in Niantic Connecticut.

• 1988 - 1992  Studied with the UCONN Graduate School of Social Work

• 1973 - 1981  Work in clinical and research Labs including The New York. State Department of Health, Bender Hematology Lab, and the Albany Medical College Division of Oncology.

• 1973  Graduated from the College of Saint Rose, Albany New York with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology.
